Walworth Castle Hotel is set in the rolling countryside of the Tees valley, just to the west of Darlington and close to the A1(M) in County Durham. It was built in 1189 and is one of the few castle hotels in England.

Couples can choose from a wide selection of menus and drinks packages, or alternatively work with our chef and management team to create their own unique wedding meal.

Civil Ceremonies

Walworth Castle Hotel can now host civil marriages and civil partnership ceremonies. The ceremony would take place in the ballroom, located in the historic part of the castle.

The King James Suite

We have 32 individually themed bedrooms including 4 posters & 4 poster suites, some of which incorporate double Jacuzzi baths. One room, really is spectacular, the King James Suite. It is one
of the largest bedrooms in Britain featuring a tented double Jacuzzi bath, a dramatic 16th century ceiling within the comfortable lounge area, and has a secret doorway leading to a circular tower which hosts a superb king-sized four poster bed. This room really is fit for a King and Queen and is often used as the Bridal Suite.
