As far as wedding venues go you can't get more idyllic than a Scottish castle and at Carberry Tower near Edinburgh, Scotland, you can have it all.
The castle is over 450 years old and steeped in history- Mary Queen of Scots surrendered to her nobles on the estate; Jacobite troops fought the English at the nearby battle of Prestonpans in 1745. More recently it was home to Lady Elphinstone, sister of the late Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, and now you too can be queen for a day!
The venue boasts gorgeous wood panelling, stained glass windows, ornate architectural features, as well as its very own chapel. The house has been expertly refurbished to provide 30 luxury bedrooms but still retains much of its original character and charm.
With such beautiful features both inside and out, there is no real need to leave the tranquil 35 acres of woodland; ceremonies can be performed inside the castle, where you can also choose to enjoy a banquet in the banqueting hall, before both you and your guests retreat to the plush bedroom suites at your disposal.
There are plenty of activities for you and your guests to enjoy whilst on site, Carberry Tower comes complete with its own billiards room, whisky bar and piano room. Our head chef and staff are also fully prepared to provide you with all of your gastronomic desires; from wonderful wedding cakes, a delightful wedding breakfast or a hearty brunch to cure the sorest head!
