Stunning Egyptian and Buddhist artefacts, magnificent Japanese armour, and beautiful Jacobean paintings are held in trust for the nation by this independent charity and are on display as part of our outstanding collections.
Set in 35 acres of grounds including a lake open to fishermen, a rose garden, and magnificent woodland, this beautiful castle in Kent is an ideal venue to host your event, enjoy a fairytale wedding or arrange a group visit with a difference.
Events
A beautiful castle in the Kent countryside that is easily accessible from London – Chiddingstone is more than just a stunning venue for weddings. We pride ourselves on being able to accommodate a wide variety of requests.
Our experience and flexibility have helped deliver successful private functions and celebrations, charity events, conferences, open days, musical concerts, exhibitions and fairs. The castle and its grounds may also be hired for filming and photographic shoots.
Catering
Catering is provided by one of three approved caterers, all of whom are flexible and produce delicious season food. You are welcome to provide your own wine and champagnes for any event, as the Castle does not charge corkage. We also have a wide range of recommended trusted suppliers who will help to ensure your event is a success

Venue rooms
The Great Hall provides a magnificent location for a wedding ceremony and reception, The White Rose Drawing Room is a beautiful, more intimate room for smaller ceremonies, and The Orangery is an amazing outdoor space which effortlessly combines ancient splendour with contemporary architecture.
Wedding planning
All weddings at Chiddingstone Castle are managed by one of the country's leading professional wedding planners, The Pink Pumpkin. Their services are complementary for all couples choosing to hold their wedding at the Castle.
Their talented team are on hand throughout your planning to help you with any queestions you may have about the venue. In addition they can recommend trusted suppliers for you to work with and can assist with timings and logistical arrangements to help your day run smoothly. A member of the Pink Pumpkin's team will also be in attendance on your wedding day to make sure everything runs to plan. For a unique wedding venue in Kent, look no further than Chiddingstone.
Venue hire options
Wedding Ceremony: Exclusive use of the castle for up to 4 hours. There are 3 choices of licenced spaces for your ceremony. The Great Hall or The Orangery can accommodate up to 100 guests. For smaller ceremonies, The White Rose Room may accommodate 60. After your ceremony you are welcome to use the grounds for photographs, drinks and canapes.
Wedding Reception: Exclusive use of the castle and grounds for your wedding breakfast and evening reception. Up to 80 guests can be seated in The Great Hall for your wedding breakfast. Guests can then enjoy the grounds of the castle and other available rooms before returning to The Great Hall for the evening reception. A further 20 guests may be accommodated in the evening to bring total numbers up to 100. The castle can be used in a variety of different ways to suit your individual requirements. Please note: Music must finish by 11.00pm and guests must depart by midnight.
Ceremony and Reception: You may wish to hold your entire wedding day at Chiddingstone Castle, combining a ceremony in The Great Hall, The White Rose Room, or The Orangery with a reception inside the castle. The castle can be used in a variety of different ways to suit your individual requirements.
