Hampton Court, Herefordshire is a castle on the meadows of the river Lugg, backed by a steep wooded escarpment and surrounded by woodland and grounds of 1,000 acres. Founded by King Henry in the early 15th century the castle has been completely restored.
The Gardens at Hampton Court are spectacular and although a recent development, are now receiving national recognition.
Wherever your interests lie we hope you enjoy your visit to Hampton Court on line and hope that it inspires you to visit us soon.
The Gardens
The Gardens at Hampton Court Herefordshire, recently completed, are one of the most ambitious garden creations of our time.
Original Victorian garden walls enclose stunning new flower gardens divided by canals, island pavilions and pleached avenues. The kitchen garden is an ornamental garden of fruit and vegetables. It is managed organically, supplying produce to the Orangery Restaurant for its seasonal menu.
There is a maze of a thousand yews with a gothic tower at its centre. Climb to the top for a panoramic view of the gardens or descend underground to a tunnel that leads to a waterfall in the sunken garden. Beautiful herbaceous borders stretch out from a one hundred and fifty year old wisteria tunnel that leads to vast lawns and ancient trees beside the castle. Beyond the lawns are riverside and woodland walks.
Weddings at Hampton Court
The spectacular castle and beautiful gardens of Hampton Court provide the ideal venue for a wedding.
Location: We are located off the A49 trunk road on the A417, and have numerous directional brown signs. Our postcode(HR6 0PN) brings SATNAV users right to the main gates.
Civil weddings: We are licensed for civil weddings and unusually there are six different areas that can be used including an authentic mediaeval Chapel and an Outdoor Courtyard. The size of the party may determine which rooms can be used.
Exclusively yours: We only offer exclusive use of the house.
Capacity: We are licensed to hold a maximum of 100 persons in our largest room for the ceremony.
Car parking: We have up to 200 spaces to include ‘evening only’ guests.
Confetti: We supply all confetti to be used from our organically managed gardens, so depending on the season there may be rose petals or dried hops. These are biodegradable and help preserve our appearance for future clients.
Fireworks: We allow professional fireworks and know some excellent firms that will put on magical displays.
Rooms
Marquee: We offer the option for a marquee which can be necessary to facilitate a larger party, and we have the best contacts depending on your specific requirements. This does increase the costs.
Separate rooms: We provide separate rooms for the wedding, reception, meal, evening reception. Every wedding is individually planned to make the most of the house and its various rooms. We also provide a room for the use of the bride and groom, and another for the bridesmaids for the day without an additional charge.
Bedrooms: There are 20 rooms available for overnight accommodation.
Catering
We will take care of all of the catering. This is one of the most important aspects of the day and we only use trusted firms that know the venue, and that will maintain the reputation for excellence. Depending on the style of cuisine, we will appoint the most appropriate supplier. Upon menu selection, a complimentary food tasting will form part of your planning process. Every menu is discussed at length to ensure the perfect harmony between menu, budget and guest enjoyment.
We also have an excellent selection of champagne from our range of hand picked suppliers which are tried and tested, and offer excellent value as they are sold to you on a retail basis. If you want to supply the alcohol, all wines are subject to a flat rate corkage per bottle to cover the provision of glassware, wine pouring staff, table setting and so on.
