The Cresset

The Cresset is Peterborough’s foremost wedding venue, with three elegant function suites ideal for wedding celebrations. Whether you are planning an intimate gathering of your closest friends and family, or a large celebration for hundreds of guests, we can tailor the perfect space for your special day.

Your celebration can be as formal or relaxed as you wish, and we can cater for small buffet-style receptions, through to a sumptuous sit-down meal for 300 guests. The size and scale of our Sovereign Hall makes The Cresset a popular choice for large Asian weddings, whilst our Fitzwilliam and Gallery suites are ideal for smaller-scale receptions. And our secluded wedding garden provides the perfect setting to capture memories to cherish for years to come.

Our expert wedding team provides a personal yet extremely professional service, so that you can relax and enjoy your day, knowing that all arrangements are in safe hands.

A dedicated wedding co-ordinator will be on hand to assist you at every stage from initial planning to the smooth running of events on the day itself. Your wedding co-ordinator can advise you on choice of room, menu selection and seating plans, through to cutting the cake, bridal favors and table decorations. You may wish to arrange your own band or disco, or we can take care of booking evening entertainment on your behalf. We can also advise on photographers, wedding cars, florists and any finishing touches you require to make your wedding day a day to remember.

Civil Weddings

We are proud to have been awarded a license to hold civil marriage and partnership ceremonies in our elegant function suites at The Cresset.

We can cater for all styles of weddings, and can provide the perfect setting for your ceremony, whether you are inviting just close friends, or over 100 guests. Our Gallery Bar is ideal for intimate ceremonies of up to 60 guests, followed by a reception in the newly refurbished Gallery Suite. For larger celebrations, we can accommodate 150 guests by combining the Gallery Suite and Fitzwilliam Suite, one for the ceremony and one for the reception.

After the ceremony you and your guests will appreciate the convenience of a reception at The Cresset, with no need to travel to another location. We can cater for all tastes and budgets, with a range of menu options from formal wedding breakfast, to buffet. All couples will have a wedding co-ordinator who will work with you in advance, and will be on hand on the day to make sure everything runs smoothly and to your satisfaction.

Wedding Menus

We offer a range of delicious menus to suit your style and budget. All options are freshly prepared in-house by our expert caterers, and range from sumptuous three course menus for your formal wedding breakfast, to finger buffets and cold fork buffets for those planning a more relaxed celebration. We also provide a choice of evening buffet menus.

Alternatively, you may prefer to arrange your own caterers. Our in-house industrial kitchen will be at their disposal.
