The Grand Pavilion is both iconic and unique in equal measure. Its design features an eclectic mix of classical architecture with modernist/art deco influences. The octagonal dome, with its feature lighting, envelopes the auditorium and gives a sense of opulence and warmth.

Conferences and Functions

Whether you need to host a business lunch meeting for 6, or a conference for 600, you need look no further than The Grand Pavilion. Perfectly situated on Porthcawl's promenade, our two function rooms – the Main Hall and the Stage Door – are perfect settings for your next event. Both feature licensed bars, flexible seating configurations and professional sound and lighting equipment. Of course, our experienced in-house event management team are always on hand to ensure your event runs without a hitch and our exceptional in-house caterers will provide you with imaginative menus and delicious food.

The Main Hall is the larger of our two venues which can comfortably host up to 643 guests and features a fully equipped professional stage, sprung dance floor and balcony seating. The Stage Door is our recently refurbished intimate venue capable of hosting up to 120 guests, featuring a small platform stage area. Additionally, our sea front Café Bar, with panoramic sea views, is ideal for hosting VIP receptions, press launches, art exhibitions or just relaxing with a refreshing drink and a light snack.

In the last 12 months, we have hosted Wedding Receptions, Conferences, Business Meetings, Dinner Dances, Award Ceremonies, Civil Wedding Ceremonies, Conventions, Cabaret Evenings, Training Days, Corporate Hospitality, and of course, lots and lots of Live Theatre! History

Built in 1932, The Grand Pavilion, with its octagonal dome and striking frontage has dominated the Porthcawl seafront for 70 years. Originally intended as a Palm Court, the Pavilion has always operated as a multifunctional venue.

Capable of holding 643 in the Main Hall and 80 in the Stage Door, the Pavilion's flexible space allows for all types of functions. With a full Ballroom sprung dance floor, professionally equipped stage, lighting and sound and modern catering facilities, the Grand Pavilion continues to offer a variety of top class entertainment for tourists and residents of South Wales. Renowned as the premier Dance Hall of its day, the Pavilion has evolved to keep pace with the demands of its customers. Today, its operations cover a huge range of functions, including Conferences, Weddings and Fayres, as well as Comedy, Variety, Theatre and Musicals. In addition, to these "One Nighters", the Grand Pavilion hosts a four week Pantomime.

The Pavilion has taken a step forward to offer a full and professional service including computerised Box Office and Ticketing, marketing and technical support. The venue now also boasts a spacious café bar, with a splendid view of the Promenade and Bristol Channel where patrons can enjoy pre theatre drinks. The Grand Pavilion is also pleased to announce that it is now licensed for Civil Wedding Services. For location and comfort, the Grand Pavilion is certainly hard to beat!
