Carriages restaurant combines great food with a wonderful, elegant atmosphere. Named after owner Julie Camm's passion for Carriage driving, for which she has attained international success, 'Carriages' superb menu is complemented by the outstanding service provided by our team of professional staff.

Our trained staff can take care of your wedding day entirely - from the wedding ceremony itself, if you choose to hold your civil wedding ceremony at Alveston House, through to your evening wedding reception, where we can cater for up to 100 guests.

Elegant venue

Alveston House itself is an elegant, period building; set in beautiful gardens, which provide the perfect backdrop for photographs. Favourite settings include under the old beech tree or around the pond. Our attractive walled gardens are also perfect for greeting guests with welcome drinks.

Wedding menu

We offer a wide selection of menu options as guides. We can also assist, if you wish to create your own menu. To complement your meal, we offer a wide range of still and sparkling wines. Our drinks packages are only suggestions, we are happy to discuss alternatives from our extensive wine list. We can also organise the entertainment for your evening party.

Special reduced rates are offered to guests wishing to stay overnight and packages for booking exclusive use of the hotel are also available on request.

Alveston House Hotel Wedding Ceremonies

Alveston House is the ideal venue for civil weddings. The Garden Suite with its chandeliers is perfect for wedding ceremonies of up to 85 guests, the Cottage Suite is ideal for a more intimate gathering of up to 20 guests.

Both suites have patio doors leading straight into our beautiful walled gardens.

Your Civil Ceremony will be conducted by a Registrar, and is not allowed to contain religious elements, although you may choose to include music, poetry or readings to accompany the ceremony. The Registrar will be happy to discuss the details of your Ceremony with you.
