Built by a wealthy Victorian mill owner in the 1860s, Bagden Hall is a luxurious West Yorkshire country house hotel in stunning grounds offering elegant accommodation.

Centrally located between Leeds and Sheffield and just ten minutes from junction 39 of the M1, it's perfect for corporate events and West Yorkshire business meetings, for weddings and private parties, and for a relaxing break in Yorkshire's 'Last of The Summer Wine' country, with the Peak District and Brontë country close by.

Weddings

Your Wedding at Bagden Hall - the perfect place in West Yorkshire to celebrate one of the most important days of your life. Set close to the motorway network, yet tucked away within 40 acres of glorious grounds, the hotel has a wedding license for civil ceremonies and the capacity to accommodate a large number of guests. Our dedicated wedding coordinator will work through every detail with you, from menus that suit your budget, to wedding photographs by the lake, floral displays, decoration and accommodation for your guests.

Suites

With several suites and the option for a large marquee in the gardens, you are free to choose the size of your celebration and make your special day just right. Our Orchard Suite can accommodate up to 180 guests with doors opening onto a sunny terrace. For a more intimate setting, The Thomas Norton Suite, Glendale Restaurant, and Green and Blue Lounge are ideal for between 10 and 90 guests, with private dining an option in the Green and Blue Lounge.

At Badgen Hall we have a licence for civil weddings. However, if you prefer a church ceremony and your reception at Badgen Hall, contact our Wedding Co-ordinator now who will be delighted to help.

Civil weddings

At Badgen Hall we have a licence for civil weddings and partnerships, so you can hold you entire wedding, with ceremony and reception, at the hotel. Perfect for you and for your guests.

Civil ceremonies are carried out at Bagden Hall by the Kirklees Registration Service, and the service will talk you through what you must do to ensure your ceremony complies with the law

Our Bedrooms

Bagden Hall has all the glorious proportions of a Victorian country house and many of our rooms make the very best of large windows that overlook the 40 acres of gardens and grounds.

Choose from suites, double or twin rooms, and smaller single rooms. All 36 bedrooms are en suite, all are WiFi enabled and all include the touches to make sure you have a very comfortable stay. We are also able to offer one room which is specially adapted for disabled guests.

Dining

With two restaurants to choose from, Bagden Hall has the dining option to match your mood. The Glendale offers fine table d'hote overlooking the hotel's beautiful gardens, and Norton's Bar and Lounge has a relaxed and informal atmosphere - making it ideal for families.

Both restaurants offer the very best of local Yorkshire produce whenever possible, and our kitchen team have put together seasonally-changing menus that include classic British dishes, and cuisine from around the world, An extensive wine list picks the cream of Old and New World wine producers.

We'd be delighted to put together a very special celebration for you for birthdays or anniversaries, and you can while away Sunday afternoons with a traditional lunch.
