Dufferin Coaching Inn

Relax in this beautiful and stylish Guesthouse built in 1803, formerly the Ulster Bank and retaining many of its original features. It is situated at the top of the High Street in Killyleagh in the shadows of Killyleagh Castle, one of the oldest inhabited castles in Ireland, on the shores of Strangford Lough.

Next door you will find the Dufferin Arms, an award winning, 120 year old friendly bar and restaurant serving excellent food from local producers.

The Dufferin Coaching Inn is conveniently located at 16 miles from Belfast and within easy reach of its Airports and Docks. The Guesthouse is also an excellent base from which to explore Northern Ireland: from the Mourne Mountains in the South to the Glens of Antrim and the Giants Causeway on the North Coast.

Weddings

The Dufferin Coaching Inn hosts around 20 weddings throughout the year. Our 17th Century Banqueting hall, converted from the Coaching Inn’s original stable yard is the ideal unique and romantic setting in the shadow of Killyleagh Castle for you to create your very own intimate theme, with a variety of room layouts and decor to inspire your guests on your special day.

Killyleagh Castle is one of many beautiful locations in the surrounding area to have your wedding ceremony in with some stunning locations for photographic opportunities of your dream day.

Accommodation for the bridal party is close to hand and our in-house caterers can create a memorable wedding banquet, with many different menus to choose from. We are fully licensed and can offer private bar facilities, alongside trade access to an excellent wine list. A host of fabulous entertainment options are available and innovative local suppliers can be approached with ease, to cater for your every need.

The Dufferin Coaching Inn is an intimate and beautifully decorated Georgian Inn. The owner and staff are known to “go the extra mile” to take care of you and your needs. Accommodation is spacious, stylish, comfortable and restful.

Dining

At the Dufferin Coaching Inn we believe in starting the day Killyleagh style with a delicious freshly cooked breakfast at a time of your choosing. Our ingredients are locally sourced and freshly cooked to order. The Dufferin Coaching Inn Ulster fry is made from sausages and bacon from our local family butcher who also rears his own live stock. Our eggs are from chickens that are free to roam. The potatoe cakes (Tatty Bread Rounds) are round and fluffy and the soda farl is from the village bakery. Our yogurt is from The Clandeboye Estate and is natural and creamy.
