With many years experience in organising and managing functions we pride ourselves on making each one a memorable occasion. We can help design and deliver any special themes through our extensive network of partners and suppliers.

The Oakland Suite can accommodate up to 150 seated guests or 250 for a buffet; and has its own dance floor, toilets andlicensed bar. Our recently refurbished bridal suite is included free with your wedding reception. All wedding guests receive discounts on accommodation. Menus, including any special dietary needs, will be tailored to your own requirements.

Facilities

The hotel is ideally situated just outside Bishop Auckland in dedicated grounds with extensive free car-parking, thirtytwo en-suite rooms, free WI-FI, and a newly built beer garden. The children can also enjoy the the newly created play area. Each of the spacious rooms has an en-suite bathroom,
flatscreen TV with Freeview and free tea and coffee making facilities. Our atmospheric bar offers the ideal place to relax before the big event and many of the wedding guests enjoy the opportunity to sit and converse in comfortable surroundings.

All wedding guests receive a discount on hotel rooms and this can also be used for any nights booked prior to, or immediately after the wedding day itself.

Menus

We aim to cater each and every event to the requirements of the bride and groom, whether it’s a classic English roast beef or a modern choice we guarantee that all your guests can be catered for. Evening buffet menus can be anything from a sandwich and savoury selection to a served
carvery offering hot roast pork sandwiches, curries, hot-pots or even fish and chips! Vegetarians are always welcome and a wide choice of meals can be catered for. The children will be catered for separately at every event and we will be delighted to offer either smaller portions of your main choice or special items aimed to satisfy the children themselves. Prices and menus are variable. Please consult our Events Director to discuss your requirements.

Entertainment

More and more weddings are including entertainment as part of the occasion, we can help you plan everything from a full-blown themed evening to a brass band, Rat Pack tribute, bands and even comedians if required.

The overall look and feel of the day, and night, will be enhanced by themeing the room to compliment the bride and bridesmaids choice of colours. We can help to arrange balloons, flowers, room decorations and any individual items to help enhance your special day.

Civil Ceremonies

Many people now choose to have a civil ceremony rather than a church service. The Park Head Country Hotel is fully licensed for civil ceremonies and can offer a full tailored service.

The service is held in the Oakland Suite and your personal choice of music, flowers and seating arrangements can be incorporated making it a uniquely personal experience for you and your partner.

The room can accommodate up to 100 people for a service after which the tables will be laid out for your special meal in less than one hour. This allows ample time for the taking of photographs in either the flower filled courtyard with its ornamental fountain or the beautiful willow trees in the gardens.

The Park Head is renowned for its food offerings, whether its from the famous carvery, extensive restaurant menu or on special occasions.

Every Sunday we offer the biggest and best carvery in the county with a choice of four joints of the finest English meat, all sourced within the local area and all complemented by a wide range of locally sourced vegetables and our legendary Yorkshire puddings - the perfect accompaniment to the traditional English Sunday roast. Vegetarian options are also always available.

The main menu is available in our extended bar area from 11am-9pm every day apart from Sunday when it’s available from 5pm to 9pm and features classic British dishes as well as your favourite international dishes

.Beer Garden & Play Area

Our recently opened fully licensed beer garden, with seating for over eighty people, and children’s play areas are perfect for an afternoon out with the family or a quiet evening drink.

The children can safely entertain themselves in our two play areas free of charge with the smaller children safely enjoying lots of fun in their own dedicated area.

Accommodation

Each of our thirty-two rooms will allow you to relax and all are well equipped with flat screen televisions offering Freeview and integrated radio channels.

Each room is spacious and with comfortable beds, modern bathrooms and double glazing you're guaranteed a good nights sleep.

The eight bedrooms in the main hotel reflect the heritage of the Park Head as an 18th century coaching inn whilst still offering all the necessary modern facilities.

Every room also has a direct-dial telephone, hairdryer and trouser presse and safes are also available.

The rooms have all been refurbished in 2008 and we are confident you will enjoy a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Our recently refurbished bridal suite with its king-size sleigh bed, Egyptian cotton bedding and large corner bath is the perfect place to round-off a special day.

It's even included free with any wedding reception booked.
