Set in 33 acres of parkland and adjoining approximately 500 acres of National Trust downland and breathtakingly beautiful coastline, Farringford offers the perfect relaxing retreat for holidays and breaks throughout the year.
Weddings
At Farringford we will be taking bookings from 2011 we are confident that the unique setting, which provides a spectacular photographic backdrop, with first class service, excellent food and our attention to detail sets us apart as the perfect venue for your wedding.
The grounds
The Golf Course - As well as having our own 9 hole Par 3 Golf course at Farringford, we have a Play and Stay Partnership with Newport, Cowes, Osbourne and Freshwater Golf Courses. We have arranged discount rates at all these courses and the professional at Newport is available for those who wish to learn or improve their game.
There is a full and varied choice of outdoor pursuits on offer at Farringford. In addition to the golf course and swimming pool, Farringford provides hard court tennis, a croquet lawn and a bowling green to enjoy on warm summer evenings.
For those wishing to venture further a field, horse riding, fishing, sailing and clay pigeon shooting can be arranged at the hotel. Bicycles are available at reception.
Farringford operates a dog friendly policy and there are many walks around the estate, including the Tennyson trail, leading through tranquil woods to the spectacular coastal path heading east across to Freshwater Bay and west to the Needles Headland.
Accommodation
Emily's Cottages
The 18 self-contained Emily's cottages are suitable for families who may require a little extra space with larger rooms capable of taking cots. They each comprise of one double room, one twin room, a sitting room, a fully equipped kitchen and family bathroom.
Alfred's Cottages
The 6 self-contained garden cottages are full of character, and are designed by the famous architect and visionary, Clough Williams Ellis. They each comprise of one double room and one twin bedded room, a sitting/dinning room with a pull out sofa bed and a fully equipped kitchen. The cottages are installed with gas central heating.
Launderette
A launderette is located next to Emily's cottages and is open to all our guests staying in self catering accommodation.
The Garden Restaurant
The Garden Restaurant is situated in the grounds overlooking the swimming pool.
All dishes are freshly prepared and locally sourced where possible. During the day choose a book from the open shelves and relax on the sofa with a pot of tea and a slice of delicious home made cake. The children's play area and a tennis court are open to all visitors.
