The George Hotel & Brasserie

Since being independently owned by the Furbank family who transformed it into a chic boutique-hotel, the George Hotel and Brasserie has brought to the village of Buckden a slice of London. The bustling wine bar and brasserie provides a haven to unwind, entertain and do business.

The George comprises of twelve stylish bedrooms, each designed with attention to detail in mind: with cloud-like beds and luxurious bathrooms, every care has been taken to make each room uniquely elegant.

The George's Head Chef, José Graziosi, has brought his Mediterranean flair to the Brasserie menu, using seasonal produce sourced from the local area. His wealth of experience includes five years at Rick Stein's Seafood Restaurant as Senior Sous-Chef.

Efficient and thoroughly professional service comes naturally to the highly trained staff giving the George the highest AA rating for customer service in the area.

As well as having been voted by Paddy Burt as one of her top five hotels of the year in the Saturday Telegraph, the George has, over the years, won many awards and accolades and been described as a salutary lesson on how to get it right to the many that don't.

Functions & Weddings

The George is fully licensed to carry out civil wedding ceremonies, naming ceremonies and renewals of vows for up to 60 guests. It is also possible to be married in our beautiful private garden.

Wedding breakfasts can be individually designed to suit the occasion, with anything from light canapés to five course dinners. For smaller intimate occasions (for up to 10 guests) our Reading Room is perfect, secluded and away from the bustling atmosphere of the Brasserie.

The Orangerie comes with its private garden and is available for private hire. It is the ideal room to have a celebration for up to 30 guests.

For those who want it all, the whole George can be booked on an exclusive basis to hold events for up to 150 guests.

The George offers a selection of 12 beautifully designed bedrooms all individually characterised after their namesake of a famous 'George'.

All rooms are en-suite and are equipped with facilities expected by today's traveller, including internet access, satellite TV and a safe.
