Allnatt Venues- East Dene

East Dene is a beautiful stone built mansion set in around 10 acres of woodland, gardens and play areas, with superb sea views and direct access to Monks Bay.

Initially built in 1800, the Mansion was extended in 1848, at which time it played a leading role in the growth and development of the delightful village of Bonchurch. For some years the home of Algernon Swinburne, the Victorian Poet, it was acquired by John Snowdon-Henry, MP and Governor of the Isle of Wight, and it was he who was responsible for the magnificent refurbishment of the interior and the wonderful layout of the grounds and gardens.

The Mansion House accommodates the Reception, beds for up to 100, a magnificent Dining Room, Seminar Room and ,Library beautiful lounge for adults, a magnificent room overlooking the sea which can is licensed for civil weddings.

There is a covered walkway to the Coach House, which accommodates a further 80 beds, and has a spacious area providing classrooms and indoor activities, but is equally suitable for Music Groups, Performing Arts and many other inspirational and group needs.

Weddings

Our magnificent venue on the Isle of Wight is East Dene and over the last three years it has really take off as a much sought after venue for weddings. Situated in the beautiful village of Bonchurch and with the lovely churches of St Boniface within walking distance, it has a wonderful setting. East Dene is also licensed for civil weddings in a choice of 4 rooms, three of which look out to sea.

Originally a Victorian family home, East Dene retains a charm and character which become yours for your very special day. We offer a wide range of choice for your wedding breakfast: from a sumptuous banquet to a simple barbeque. We pride ourselves on the same level of friendly and professional service whatever the size of your wedding party. For numbers in excess of 70 we recommend a marquee on the hard standing next to the conservatory, linked to the mansion by a covered walkway.
