Weddings at Athelhampton

Athelhampton offers an exquisite venue for your important day, with experienced and courteous service, we feel we offer an ideal venue, with private use of Athelhampton’s facilities on Fridays and Saturdays throughout the year.

We are licensed to hold civil wedding ceremonies, in all the main rooms at Athelhampton including the historic Great Hall and have delightful dining rooms for your Wedding Breakfast and evening party.

The House

Within the house are many rooms suitable for entertaining. The Great Hall and surrounding public rooms are most suitable for drinks receptions for up to 150 people, with plenty for your guests to look at while they enjoy a drink or a canapé.

The Great Hall dating from 1485, with its oak paneling, huge fireplace and minstrels gallery will seat 80 people for a civil wedding ceremony.

The Great Chamber forms the ground floor of the west wing and enjoys an aspect of full sunshine, with beautiful furniture and an ornate plaster ceiling, it is ideal for the smaller wedding ceremony for up to 30 persons.

The Gardens

The Gardens form delightful scenery for reception drinks, entertaining or formal photographs. The architectural structure leads you from one garden to another, with a new vista around every corner.

Food

Our chef’s will prepare your menu to your specific requirements using the freshest of locally sourced ingredients. We ship and cellar superb wines and champagnes for you to choose from.

Wedding Planner

Our wedding coordinators will meet with you to plan your day with the greatest attention to detail and will tailor make your day around your wishes.

We can provide advice about local florists, cake makers and photographers, many of whom we use ourselves. Local accommodation is plentiful throughout the year and our own letting cottage is often available through our letting agent.
