Blakemore House

Dating back to the early 20th century, Blakemore House at Little Wymondley, just two miles from Stevenage in the Hertfordshire countryside, has recently been refurbished and is now a beautiful venue for conferences, meetings, wedding receptions and private entertaining.

Built by Major Usher in 1911 for his new bride, the house has six separate rooms each named after different herbs, and accommodates between 20 and 300. Four of these rooms open out onto the picturesque gardens where there is also space for a marquee for up to 500 guests.

With onsite hotel accommodation and a flexible, friendly and personal approach, Blakemore House is the ideal venue for corporate and private events

Your wedding is a very special day. Whether it is an intimate gathering for close family or a larger celebration we have the perfect room for the perfect party; you can even hold your ceremony at Blakemore House. Choose from one of our six fabulous rooms named after a variety of herbs or the spectacular Garden Room with integrated bar. Alternatively we can arrange a beautiful marquee in the grounds for larger and more elaborate events up to 500.

We will discuss, advise and ensure that every detail including floral decorations, music and entertainment, catering and accommodation onsite or nearby is covered and tailored so that your wedding day is everything you dreamed it would be.

Blakemore House also lends itself as the perfect venue for family celebrations such as notable birthdays, retirement events and christenings.
