Leave behind the stresses of the 21st century and surround yourself in the warmth and tranquillity of Cressbrook Hall, there is nowhere quite like it.
Every wedding is individual at Cressbrook Hall. Cressbrook Hall is no ordinary wedding venue – you’ll simply fall in love with it the minute you see it - set in 23 acres of beautiful woodland in the Derbyshire Peak District, near Bakewell - a spectacular, secluded setting where you can celebrate your special day in privacy and comfort.
At Cressbrook Hall every wedding is specifically tailored to your individual requirements with exquisite attention to detail. Everything can be taken care of at Cressbrook Hall, from the ceremony itself, right through to accommodation for your guests.
Ceremony
Cressbrook Hall has five wonderful settings licensed for civil ceremonies; either indoors in the magnificent Inner Hall, Drawing Room, Orangery or the Granary, or outdoors in the Floral Arcade. All these locations will provide the perfect backdrop to take your vows and of course your photographs. Photographs can also be taken in the conservatory, in the grounds or, by special request, in Cressbrook Hall’s imposing main staircase. Both buildings and grounds are eminently photogenic!
Reception
You can choose between the Orangery, the Granary and the Conservatory, each one offering its own distinct ambience. The ornamental formal gardens, restored to the original planting plan of 1850, are opened for you on your wedding day so you and your guests can enjoy the views over the River Wye.
The Orangery: With its southerly aspect, glorious views over the River Wye and direct access to the formal gardens, the Orangery is a superb venue for any occasion, particularly favoured by our wedding guests. The Orangery was restored in 2001 to its early 19th century elegance and subsequently received a commendation for Design by the Council for the Preservation of Rural England. Accommodating 53 guests, or up to 92 if adjoining areas are utilised.
The Granary: The versatile Granary is intimate and relaxing, an ideal place for candle-lit ceremonies, business meetings, and wining and dining. A hidden plasma screen can be used to view wedding or management training videos.
The Conservatory: Guests can enjoy canapés and refreshments from the well-stocked bar in this spacious reception area close to the Hall and Garden Cottages. It’s a convivial place to relax while the bride and groom are being photographed. The acoustics are superb in here, making it ideal for music and dancing. This is also a popular room for corporate meetings.
Accommodation
Cressbrook Hall and the cottages in its grounds can accommodate approximately 50 overnight guests if they are required before or after your wedding. Once you have set a date and established a budget, simply tell us what you want we will do our best to create a wedding that is distinctly and uniquely yours.
