Northwood House

Northwood House is near the centre of Cowes, the world famous yachting centre and home to Cowes week. Built by the Ward family in 1837 the beautiful grade II listed Victorian residence is a popular venue for many events, Weddings, parties, dinners and conferences can all be arranged to meet individual requirements. The beautiful parkland and charming private gardens with views overlooking the Solent offer idyllic scenery for a day to remember.

Civil Ceremonies

To arrange a civil ceremony at Northwood House you should contact the Register office to check availability for the date. They will also advise you on what documentation you will have to complete.

Capacity
Seating at events in the various function rooms for meetings, dinners, concerts and variety shows is as follows:

• The Ballroom: 120
• The Dining Room: 60
• The Drawing Room: 60
• The Morning Room: 20

Facilities

The largest function room is the Ballroom. This elegant room overlooks the gardens and parkland and out across the Solent with its dazzling array of yachts. Double doors lead out on to the lawns and gardens. We can cater for 120 guests at a formal seated function and 200 at a less formal event. The Dining Room is separated from the Ballroom by large wooden shutters enabling these two rooms to be opened out into one large area.

The Drawing room
The Drawing room is the most popular choice for civil weddings at Northwood House and can seat up to 60 people comfortably. There are French windows opening out onto the lawns on the south side of the house – an ideal place for photographs and celebration drinks after the ceremony.

Bar and Catering
All About Catering are appointed to manage all event services within the house and grounds. The company is well known on the Island for providing excellent food, high level of service and event management. The house is fully licensed with the bar stocking a wide range of beers, wines and spirits.
