Wedding Suites

The tasteful and timeless elegance of the James Braid Suite is the perfect setting for a large wedding. The warm, comfortable atmosphere, superb décor and beautiful view overlooking the Mere creates a sumptuous ambience for any wedding. The versatile design of the room can accommodate 500 guests for a sit-down reception or be partitioned to accommodate a smaller reception and civil ceremony.

The contemporary style of the George Duncan and Nick Faldo suites create a fresh and inspiring environment for the sophisticated wedding. From the ivy-covered entranceway and tiled hallway of the George Duncan to the intimate bar and lighting... the world of tradition blends into state-of-the-art facilities. The picturesque view towards the clock tower fromthe Nick Faldo is a perfect complement to the warm and relaxing atmosphere of the suite.

Civil Wedding Ceremony

At Mere we can hold a civil wedding ceremony for as many as 350 people. Planning your ceremony is a very important part of the day and our co-ordinators will be able to offer any advice that you need.

In most cases it will be necessary to hold the civil wedding in a separate suite from where you hold the wedding breakfast. The ceremony suite includes two pedestal floral arrangements at the top of the room by the registration desk, these can be ordered to enhance the theme of your day. The bride and groom to be, once they have made arrangements for a civil ceremony, have to contact the registrar personally to confirma date and make necessary arrangements.

We can also cater for Kosher and Asian weddings.

Packages

The packages are available at the following suites, Mere Nick Faldo Suite, The George Duncan Suite, James Braid Suite and prices are available on request.

The following are included in the wedding package charge:

• Room hire of the suite
• Reception red carpet
• Master of ceremony available (performed by duty manager)
• Colour co-ordinated linen and napkins
• Flower colours of bride’s choice on all the tables and top table
• Use of silver cake stand and wedding knife
• Available upon request: entertainment advice, theming
