Meols Hall

Meols Hall is Southport's historical manor house dating back to the early 12th Century. Set in one hundred acres of private park land close to the picturesque village of Churchtown, this is one of the oldest settlements on the Lancashire coast.

Situated within the grounds of Meols Hall you will find the Tithe Barn which provides one of the most beautiful settings for a wedding anywhere in England.

Meols Hall Estate has acres of idyllic wooded parkland suitable for a host of challenging outdoor activities, product launches, staff motivation and incentive schemes.

Weddings

You will find a unique atmosphere in the cosy ambience of the candlelit Tithe Barn. Exclusive photographic opportunities in the grounds. There can be very few settings equal to the Tithe Barn - situated in the grounds of Meols Hall, Churchtown - Southport's historical Manor House, dating back to the 12th Century. Weddings are organised to individual requirements. Facilities available all year. Original cobbled courtyard for a outdoor reception area.

The Tithe Barn at Meols Hall is an ideal venue not only for your Wedding Reception but also for your ceremony completing the perfect setting for your once in a lifetime event. The four hundred year old barn has been sympathetically restored by local craftsmen using traditional methods. The Tithe Barn also boasts a modern fully equipped kitchen, bar facilities and a full sound system. There are also facilities for the disabled. Modern lighting gives a pleasant glow to the interior of the building.

The Civil Ceremony

The ceremony will take place in the Meols Hall Tithe Barn at a time agreed both with the Registrar and Meols Hall. The chairs will be set out in rows of eight chairs with a centre aisle as agreed with the Fire Safety Officer. The registration table will be situated in the front of the Mangers (north end of the Tithe Barn) with seating for VIP guests in the front area and up to a total of number of 120 guests also seated in the Tithe Barn. Musical arrangements can be made by the wedding party as appropriate, i.e., harpist, quartet, etc., or the use of our CD System that must be discussed with Meols Hall. Smoking will not be allowed in the Tithe Barn before, during or after the ceremony. Smoking is allowed in the Tithe Barn at the reception as agreed with the wedding party. A public address system will be available in the tithe Barn together with the loop system for the hard of hearing.

Winter Weddings

Autumn and Winter weddings are our speciality. Imagine what could be more romantic than arriving through the main gates and winding your way up the drive to receive a traditional warm welcome.

Here you can have pre-reception drinks in front of a roaring log fire. Afterwards, stroll across the historic courtyard to the cosy ambience of the tastefully restored 400 year old Tithe Barn for a romantic candle lit reception. Meols Hall Tithe Barn has full central heating with all modern facilities, but gives one a feeling of old-fashioned hospitality in a totally secluded location.

Flowers and food can be organised to suit individual tastes and you can add your own personnel touch to give that warm and cosy feeling to this unique setting. Game and vegetables from the estate, and rare wines from the Meols Hall cellar are available to the connoisseur. Exceptional photographic opportunities abound, whether inside or outdoors.
