Founded in 1845 by William Aldwin Soames, who collected a group of likeminded local citizens to join him in the task, Brighton College was the first public school to be founded in Sussex. It has gothic revival buildings by Sir George Gilbert Scott RA (flint with stone dressings, 1848-66) and Sir Thomas Graham Jackson RA (brick with terracotta dressings, 1883-1887; flint with stone dressings 1922-1923).

Weddings
Brighton College can offer you the opportunity to celebrate your wedding with a civil ceremony in the intimacy of the Hordern room and a blessing in the Chapel. Then take pictures in the idyllic Quad, followed by a Reception in the magnificent Great Hall or Dining Room. We can provide all the facilities you require. Wedding menus £37 - £39, Room Hire £1000.
Receptions
'Dining in College'
Banquets, dinner, dinner/dances, lunches or receptions can be catered for in style, formally or less formally. Arrange a themed evening perhaps - a Medieval Banquet in the Great Hall, or a Murder Mystery Evening in the Dining Hall.
Conferences
The College can satisfy every organisers' needs. Meet in the Great Hall, take as many breakout sessions as you want - while receptions, lunches & dinners can be accommodated with ease.
The Great Hall can accommodate 320 persons theatre, 72 cabaret and 168 banquet style.
There are two lecture theatres ideal for presentations, talks and seminars seating 92 & 56 persons respectively. One lecture theatre is also equipped with Video Conferencing facilities. We also have several other rooms available to hire including the newly built Sammy Woods Cricket Pavilion overlooking our beautifully kept sports playing field.

What is included in the menu? Our menu cost includes a gorgeous three course meal with coffee & mints as well as all costs for linen, staff, glasswear, crockery, cultery, tables & chairs.

What is the charge for not reaching the minimum? We would still charge for 70 guests on a Saturday even if you numbers are lower.
