Lyde Court

Lyde Court dates back to the 14th Century and is part of the vast Duchy of Cornwall Estate. Set in a private and isolated Herefordshire valley, yet only 2 miles from Hereford City centre. Our weddings take place in the Barns which are adjacent to the main house and gardens. The 17th Century Stone Barns have undergone minimal changes in 400 years and are completely unspoilt. The stone walls, elm beams, vaulted ceilings and arrow slit windows give a wonderful ambience and provide the perfect venue for a romantic wedding.

An informal and relaxed location

The stone Tithe barns allow you to create your perfect day without the restraints imposed by large hotels or coporate venues. From small intimate weddings with 25 guests through to large gatherings of 250 people we have the perfect venue.

Make the most of your special day.

The lawn in front of the house is perfect for a Champagne reception with canapes. Perhaps a Jazz band, classical guitarist or string quartet playing or entertainment provided by Squire Bill and the Lassington Oak Morris Men to start the celebrations whilst photographs are taken and guests mingle prior to the wedding breakfast.

With beautiful countryside views the pretty gardens filled with flowers and foliage are a wonderful backdrop for those special wedding photographs.

Catering

We can cater for every choice of wedding reception. Whether you are looking for a hog roast or a five course banquet we can cater for your every wish. Food is locally sourced and not only do we specialise in vegan and vegetarian catering we also welcome involvement from clients to create a menu specific to your occasion.

Entertainment

You have the flexibility to choose your own entertainment and if necessary we can recommend musicians and groups to suit your requirements. Whether your style is a Jazz quintet, folk group, a local ceilidh band, string quartet, covers band or disco we can arrange suitable entertainment for your celebrations.

A licensed bar run by friendly and experienced staff will look after you throughout the celebrations.

The party can continue out into the lawned courtyard and adjoining walled garden, beautifully lit in the evening they are ideal for pig roasts and barbecues.

Most venues will close around midnight, just when the party is in full swing. At Lyde Court your hire period runs until 2.00 a.m. the following day. An extension can sometimes be arrranged.
