Penrhos Court has been a farm for 700 years. The 13th century Cruck hall is now an award winning organic banqueting hall, serving seasonal, local, organic food for green weddings, meetings, conferences, retreats, parties and celebrations. The 18th century Byre is home to Greencuisine, the nutritional based school of Food & Health.
Green Weddings at Penrhos
Penrhos is a gem of an old manor farm buried in the half-tamed border country between Herefordshire and Wales. Penrhos is the perfect setting for your green wedding.
Seasonal, organic food is at the heart of Penrhos. Wedding banquets are prepared in the award-winning kitchen by chef/nutritionist Daphne Lambert and each menu is individually created. Foods that are connected with passion, love and marriage are a strong inspiration - in Spring, the first green shoots of asparagus and the yellow primrose flower, in Summer, red roses, strawberries and sweet ripe peaches, in mellow Autumn the season brings figs, honey and the richness of saffron and in Winter, warming spices of ginger, cardamom and nutmeg.
Exclusive Use
For your wedding celebrations you have exclusive use of the whole of Penrhos. This includes the Elizabethan room, Medieval Cruck Hall, Courtyard, Byre and 15 bedrooms and 2 apartments. Then on your big day - the ceremony, photographs, drinks and a celebration meal, followed by an evening party and, the next morning, breakfast recounting memories with friends.

Away time
There is a great benefit in groups that work together spending time as a team off-site and away from the normal day to day pressures. Choosing the right environment for your time away together will help build a team spirit which enables the business to flourish. Companies can use the facilities at Penrhos and organise their own time away. Alternatively, we have facilitators and trainers who can work with your to achieve your goals.
Food
One of the highlights of staying at Penrhos is the seasonal, organic dinner around a large table in the medieval Cruck hall. Sharing food can do a lot to encourage understanding, friendship and affection. This is very effectively conveyed in the wonderful film Babette's Feast, where members of a village community who despise one another become friends as they eat and drink at an elaborate dinner. The dinner renews friendship, restores love and revives harmony in the community.
Activity Time
There are many activities nearby for your Company – kayaking, walking and horse riding are popular choices and can be easily arranged.
