The Cross Barn

As soon as you step inside you can feel the wonderful atmosphere of this beautiful 16th century brick barn which is set in the heart of the historic village of Odiham. Under a superb oak roof and flooded with light the barn makes a wonderful wedding reception venue complete with excellent catering facilities. There is a meet and greet area and a large reception space for up to 120 people. The fully fitted kitchen is well equipped and there are tables and chairs for 120. Crockery and cuttlery is also provided.

The main hall measures 13.2m (43ft 4 in) by 7.2m (23ft 7in) overall, including a recess at the east end. There is an additional 3.2m (10ft 6in) by 3.7m (12ft 2in) projecting from the south wall which is generally used for storage of tables and chairs.

Due to its location in the heart of the village, the hall is not suitable for amplified music from DJs or live bands, however there is an audio system on which CDs may be played or MP3 players may be connected. A decibel limiter is installed to alert users to any excessive noise.

The hall has under-floor heating and is strategically lit with quartz halogen, dimmable uplighters for ambience and independent low-energy downlighters for bright, even illumination at table-top height. All switches and controls are behind the door to the kitchen. 18 electrical sockets are conveniently situated around the hall. There are three fire exits with break glass alarms and extinguishers at each exit.

The kitchen is accessible from either the main hall or the entrance hall. It has a 6-burner stove, 2 hot food cabinets, a fridge / freezer, a small microwave oven, a commercial standard dishwasher, a double food preparation sink, separate hand washing sink and 12 electrical sockets. Crockery and cutlery for 100 place settings are available. A fire blanket and a fire extinguisher are also located in the kitchen. There is a large electrically operated serving hatch.

14 tables measuring 1.8m x 0.75m (6ft x 2ft 6in) and 2 tables measuring 0.9m x 0.75m (3ft x 2ft 6in) are available and are kept in the storage area. The tables are 27inches (70cm) high. There are 120 chairs, 60 of which line one long wall of the hall with remainder in the storage area.

There are ladies' toilets, gentlemens' toilets and a disabled access toilet which also has baby changing facilities.

In addition to the main hall there is a separate upstairs meeting room, The Hayloft, which will accommodate a maximum of 17 people. This room is let independently from the main hall.
