The Post House Stafford

The Post House, located on Greengate Street in Stafford is a beautiful building dating around 1715, taking its name from the period from 1914 when it became the towns Post Office. The recent renovation has been sympathetic to many of its original features, including fine oak panelling and original letter boxes which have been incorporated into its design.

The style

The overall style of the Post House is striking contemporary with a classic edge, however our Wedding Suite - which acts as a venue within a venue - boasts stylish sophistication. Its elegant, neutral tone creates a relaxing ambiance, adapting beautifully to any colour scheme that you choose for your big day.

Capacity

The venue which accommodates up to 80 guests for a seated wedding, with capacity for 130 evening guests, offers separate bridal party access making your day personal to you and your guests. Our private amenities include an outside courtyard leading into the building with a red carpet entrance, personal bar facilities, luxury bathroom and a romantic Juliet balcony which is a beautiful setting for that ‘first kiss’ photograph.

Facilities

Our state of the art audio visual facilities ensures that you can entertain your guests with any style of entertainment, from relaxing classical, to cabaret or a vibrant band and DJ, whilst our sophisticated sound proofing system allows your wedding party to continue into the small hours.

Photographs

In addition to our beautiful Juliet balcony, The Post House offers a variety of stylish locations for photographs that will be admired for generations, from our stylish cocktail roof garden, to our dramatic staircase and private rooms with beautiful large sash windows.

Victoria Park, which is a beautiful picturesque natural area, including a Victorian bridge, band stand, water features and bowling green, is only a few minutes walk from The Post House, and offers an additional photographic location for your special day.

The Ceremony

Located in the heart of Stafford, The Post House is perfectly situated within a 5 minute walk from both the Registry Office and St Mary’s Church.

If you would like your special day all under one roof, then your ceremony can be held at The Post House as it is a licensed premises for Civil Ceremonies. Our local registrar will conduct your ceremony in our Post House Suite which can accommodate up to 85 guests. For the more intimate wedding, our beautiful Chetwynd Room can cater for a maximum of 28 guests.

If you are taking advantage of our ceremony room hire, there will be a £500 supplement for this option, which includes set up and room change within The Post House Suite and room hire of our Mail Room private dining suite for the ‘Registrar Interview’ prior to your ceremony.

Menus and Drinks Packages

Menu

At The Post House, we pride ourselves on our attention to detail. We have exciting wedding breakfast menus and evening buffets for you to choose from. All you have to do, is sit with one of our dedicated wedding coordinators and select from our interesting menu choices to create a perfect menu for you and your guests.

Drinks

The ‘toasting drink’ can be anything you wish, from Prosecco to Dom Perignon, or maybe something more personal or adventurous created by our professional Cocktail Mixologist.

Please note: Drinks packages can be upgraded to suite your preference and budget.

Entertainment

When it comes to entertaining your guests, our sophisticated sound proofing system ensures that you can enjoy any music of your choice, from a relaxing classical ambiance, to a loud band or DJ. Whether you want a cellist performing throughout your Wedding Breakfast, or a Jazz Band entertaining your evening reception, together we can create exactly what’s right for you.

And of course, you and your guests are also welcome to enjoy all other aspects of The Post House entertainment. From our charming cocktail bar tucked away downstairs, to our exciting Red Bar and Club and stunning cocktail roof garden (weather permitting of course).

Booking and pricing

You can provisionally hold your chosen wedding date for 14 days under no obligation. After 14 days we will require a non-refundable deposit of £450.00.

Additional guests can be added to all of our packages and upgrades on drinks are available at a supplement. All our packages and prices throughout our brochure include VAT. Prices also include use of our tables, chairs, standard linen, crockery, glassware and full compliment of staff.
