About Ian

Ian is a professional Artist based in Essex. Drawing has been an interest of his since childhood. Partly influenced by his Grandfather and Great Grandfather (and his brother - George Burchett aka "King of Tattooist"), all of whom were also professional artists.

Ian started work in 1979 BC (Before Computers !) as a draughtsman. His career has always involved drawing and in 1999 he "took the plunge" and became a self-employed artist. It was in that year he had his first cartoons published in a London newspaper.

The caricature part of his business initially involved just drawing people from photos sent in the post but after being asked several times to do parties he eventually decide to give it a go. After a period of intensive self-training he became quick enough to draw his "cartoon portrait" style caricatures in 5 minutes (or less!) and so started doing them "Live" in 2000. Possibly the best way to describe how the partygoers greet his drawings is to say, that they want him to stay at the end of the session - because everyone wants their own caricature!

Designing logos has always been a fascination of Ian's too and this is where his technical drawing skills and artist ability come together. He loves the challenge of creating a unique logo that represents the clients business. Adding to this his knowledge of animation, he now creates what he calls "LIVGOS" - these are ideal for web site logos that need to be more eye catching.

Other interests of Ian's include "Tai Chi", Boating, Cycling and making sculptures

Live Caricatures Entertainment

Weddings, Parties (all ages),Bat Mitzvahs: "On the Spot Caricatures" (or more accurately Cartoon Portraits) make excellent entertainment and are great as ice breakers at conferences and the like. Drawn in Black and White on good quality paper they take approximately 4-5 minutes per person. The sheets can have pre-printed headings to remind the guests of the occasion and date.

Exhibitions: You will "Draw a crowd" with a caricature artist on your stand.

• This also gives you 5 minutes with a customer to tell them about your business
• The drawing sheets can have your company logo and contact details pre-printed, serving as a further reminder to the customer long after the exhibition is over.
• You can have a pre-drawn background which incorporates your business/product
• Furthermore it can bring the guest speakers (and the press!) to your stand to have their caricature done.
