Minstrel Greetings

we believe that a Minstrel Greeting is absolutely the best way to show the bride and groom that you love them. Ideally, as a surprise for either the bride or the groom, or even better, both, but even if the the couple know it is going to happen it is still a wonderful way to mark the occasion with a special song all about them that they can treasure forever.

This is where a minstrel Greeting is unique, as not only will the song contain all of the information about the couple but they will also recieve, either an audio CD, or a DVD video of their song that they can treasure forever. I also like to give copies to the the family member or friend who books it and or provides all of the information for the song.

The basic level of my service costs £120

for this The Wandering Minstrel will arrive in full medieval minstrel outfit and surprise the couple with a personalised song containing the names of the couple and the names of some family members who the greeting would be from.

The song itself will be a special wedding song that says everything that the people want to say to the couple on their special day. They will also recieve a small bouquet of flowers, a personalised certificate style lyric sheet and a special audio CD copy of the song. The CD contains a full band production recording of the song for the couple to keep, it features a customised vocal track containing the details that are to be included. The tracks are then mixed with the backing track and mastered onto CD.

The CD will have a photo, that needs to be supplied, printed onto the body of the CD and the cover too. This is a very professional performance by a seasoned performer and has some level of personalisation. However, we encourage you to consider the personalisation options that we offer. As the thing that most make a minstrel Greeting special is that it is all about them. The more personalisation, the better it is.

If you wish The Minstrel can also perform one other song. If there is a song that is very special to the couple he will happily try to learn this song providing he is given plenty of notice. You must understand though that not every song is suitable to be played on a 12 string acoustic guitar and sung, so there may be some negotiating as to which extra song is sung. Things that work well here are romantic love songs and singalong songs that everyone can join in with. I'll even consider playing the guitar for one of the couple to sing their favourite song to the other one, depending on the song. I don't charge extra for the learning of the song once we've agreed which one it will be.

Our personalised lyrics service costs just £20 extra. We encourage our customers to supply as much information as possible to get the best out of this service.

The types of things that might be included are their names, the names of loved ones their work, their achievements, their interests, and the celebrities that they love. They can also include the funny things that they say or do and funny things that have happened to them. They'll know all the private jokes that will make them laugh out loud and they can all go into the song. It works really well if a lot of this information has already been included in the speeches and then even peopel who don't know the couple that well, will still get the joke.

Our full bespoke service costs just £180

This is a completely new song written just for the couple, a brand new full band production recording will be created and the song will never be used for any other purpose. This service includes a larger bouquet of flowers and extra copies of the audio CD are available free of charge for other family members if required.

However, what makes this bespoke service really special is that it also includes a special DVD featuring the song and the photos and video clips that you supply. My special software will analyse the music of your specially written song and create very special animated effects. These videos have to be seen to be truly understood.

As with the lyrics service it is worth taking the time to find as many photos and video clips as possible. Now if you have the facilities at the venue to play a DVD then imagine the impact that will be created when after The wandering Minstrel has performed live, he is then able to announce that they can now view the complete video on the big screen too. On their big day they can be the subject of their very own pop video. We have produced these videos for singer songwriters and rappers to showcase their own music. That's how good they are.We will even share the video on facebook and youtube, so everyone can see the video later too

I recommend the full bespoke service if a totally unique and special experience is required.

If you choose to add a mix and mingle performance to the event, The minstrel will sing for a period of time, going from table to table, with a list of songs available for each table to choose their favourites. This works well in any area that has no other music on, and is a good way to entertain the guests while they are waiting for the next segment of the day to begin, and still means that other tables can still chat while the performance is going on at a different table.

The charge for a mix and mingle performance plus The full bespoke Minstrel Greeting is just £250.

But remember that if you are booking this service and you would like some acoustic music in the actual wedding service too, then it is included in the price. This can be contemporay christian worship songs or any special song that the minstrel can learn in advance, with the same restrictions as earlier. It just worth chatting with the minstrel first to see if their special song is suitable for this service.

Well, that is a lot of information, but I promise you what ever combination you choose it will add something to the special day.

2) Mix and mingle entertainment

The Wandering Minstrel can also provide acoustic entertainment to your guests as they arrive at your reception, or as they wait for the next part of the wedding festivities. The Wandering Minstrel will wander around the venue interacting with your guests singing songs from the 50s. 60s, and 70s, and some more modern songs too. Given plenty of notice the minstrel may be able to learn specially requested songs too. This can still work well when combined with a Minstrel Greeting because, while the bride and groom may see the minstrel performing the mix and mingle act they still have no idea that he is about to sing a special song all about them.

3) Master of Ceremonies

You may also choose to use The Wandering Minstrel as a Master of Ceremonies to make announcements and to introduce the speakers and read out messages. Again, using the minstrel in this way does not necessarily spoil the surprise when he sings the fully personalised song later on.

4) Contemporary worship songs

Not everyone wants hymns at their wedding, you may want the more contemporary worship songs and choruses played on guitar. Mike Collins, the man behind the Minstrel is also an experienced worship leader in a Pentecostal church, and can sing your choice, or his choice of these contemporary worship songs. A small PA system is supplied for this purpose and Mike will lead the worship sensitively, which can include singing in the spirit, at your discretion. Mike does not wear the minstrel costume for this part of the service , but will dress smartly for the occasion.

5) 1 Corinthianths 13

Many couples choose to have the Bible passage from 1 Corinthians 13 read at their wedding as it's all about Love. Why not consider having Mike sing his own composition based on 1 Corinthians 13 as part of your wedding service. The audio sample for this is called "Excellent"
