Smink Makeup Artistry

Smink means Make-up in Norwegian and this is where the head Lipstick Lady, Marianna hails from. She has worked for many years as a make-up artist for both private and corporate clients and these have included fashion designers such as Paul Costelloe and Lindka Cierach Couture in London. She has designed make-up for seasonal fashion shows, worked on PR launches for record labels and was also the International Make-Up Artist for american cult cosmetic brand Fresh where she trained up other artists. Most recently she has written articles for Ideal Bride magazine and been featured in East Living Magazine.

Due to a persuasive fiancée she has recently relocated from Central London to Yorkshire and is establishing her business in this area.

Industry Standard

Marianna is independent and is not affiliated with any one brand, and is therefore able to recommend genuinely good products for each client. Luxury, specialist brands such as MAC, Clinique, Chanel, Kryolan and Artistry are the norm. She also works with Airbrush make-up which gives a superb flawless base and is fast becoming the industry standard for high definition TV and film work.

Techniques

The make-up is in depth and uses techniques to light and shade the face, minimise double chins, cover scars and rosacea, soften wrinkles and of course create looks that will last for as long as they need to for cameras or with difficult lighting conditions with minimal touch-ups. Make-up can be as natural or vintage glam to suit how you would like to look.

Bookings

Marianna gets booked up early, as lots of work is through previous bridal recommendations and as she still works extensively with photographic and fashion shoots for commerical clients, prebooking is essential.

Should you require further hairdressers/make-up artists for a larger event,further professionals can be booked. She also has experience with basic hair up-do's if it is beyond her remit will happily will refer you to professional hairdressers if needs be. She loves any creative challenge but is equally happy to do what she does best -making her clients look the way they want to look..

Wedding Trial

For brides a trial run before the wedding is reccommended so you can play about with ideas, and make sure that you are completely happy with your look for the big day. Marianna will travel to you, or you are welcome to arrange to meet her for a coffee and see her portfolio at her house in Ilkley.
