One Life Weddings

One Life Weddings write and perform personal, contemporary ceremonies that reflect you as a couple. We specialise in outdoor weddings and unlicensed venues, offering the freedom to hold your ceremony in any location; from woodland, beaches and lakesides to marquees, tipis and yurts.

We are available for weddings, commitments, renewal of vows and baby namings.

We don’t really do ‘alternative’ but rather we do personal, engaging, honest, fun, imaginative, modern, real, reflective, touching and romantic (but not too slushy if you don’t want!).

A One Life Wedding Ceremony follows a traditional structure just like a wedding you may have been to before, below is an example of a running order and some of the things you might like your wedding to include:

1. Bride’s Arrival
2. ‘Giving away’ / Parents’ Welcome / Vow of Support from all guests
3. Welcome & Opening Words
4. Words about what marriage means to you both and the story of your relationship
5. Readings
6. Wedding Vows (personal, traditional or a mixture of the two)
7. Exchange of Rings
8. Song or Music
9. Family Vows
10. Symbolic action (lighting candle, signing vows, handfasting etc)
11. Wedding Traditions (from any culture or religion)
12. Pronouncement
13. First Kiss
14. Closing Words
15. Recession

But don’t worry, you don’t need to be creative or even know what you want because we guide you through the different options and possibilities, give ideas and advice along the way – even what to say to guests and family who are worried it won’t be the ‘real’ wedding!
