Brides with Tattoos
Tattoos are miniature works of art that last a lifetime. Some brides love to show off their tats on their wedding day, while others will be desperate to hide them. Here we take a look at what to do in each case.

For many, tattoos are a way of life. For others an embarrassing reminder of their youthful folly or a passing fad. So when it comes to the wedding, a bride with tattoos will have to ask herself the big question: to show or to hide?
- If you decide to hide your tattoo(s) there are lost of specialist make-ups that can cover them. They are very thick and cover anything. For a perfect finish choose one that is the same colour as your skin (remember you may have a spray tan done just before). After application, dust off with powder for a matte finish. Buy the make-up a while before the wedding so you can get lots of practice in. You could also look for a dress that covers the tattoo.
- You thought long and hard about what to have tattooed on your body and where, and you went through hours (or days!) of pain under the needle to get them...so why hide them? It's normal that you would want to show them off, they are a natural part of who you are! Find a dress that completely reveals your tats, so everyone can appreciate them in the full. If you have a tattoo on your cleavage, look for a sweetheart neckline, if you have them on your arms a strapless, and if they are on your back, a halter neck will do. If your tattoo is on your leg, then choose a short skirt.
- What about showing off a new tattoo on your wedding day? We are not suggesting you get a real one just for the occasion, but if you want to add sexy exotic touch to your look you could select a semi-permanent tattoo. Swarovski crystal tattoos are perfect, choose a discreet one that means something to you, a heart or the word LOVE. You could put it for all to see or hide it somewhere special just for your hubby-to-be. An exotic option would be henna tattoos. If you’ve never done one before make sure you do a test well in advance to ensure you are not allergic.
