It’s a small detail but it makes a big difference especially to those with even the littlest knowledge of table etiquette. Find out how to perfectly set the table for your wedding breakfast and leave a lasting impression…

How you set the table says more about you than you think. Here you will find the information you need to tell you exactly where everything should go…

  • Make sure you select the right utensils for the type of food.
  • Forks with three prongs should be used with fish and those with four for meat. The fork should be placed on the left hand side of the place setting and should be ordered according to the menu. For example, appetizer fork first, entrée fork second, and then the main dish. Dessert forks should be placed across the top of the place setting.
  • In the same way from the right hand side, place the soup spoon, entrée spoon and then the knife.
  • The dessert spoon/ fork should be placed across the top of the place setting.
  • Glasses should be placed on the right above the knife and spoons; the water glass should be first and then working outwards place the red wine glass and then the white wine glass.
  • Place a bread plate and knife above the forks.
  • Finally, place a napkin to the left of the plate…although remember that its final destination should always be on the lap!

Learn and use these simple rules so that the only thing that you will have to worry about when it comes to the tables is the conversation that is passed between your guests!
