Don’t want to spend a fortune on expensive gifts for your guests? Here we give you some advice for some original wedding favours that won’t break the bank

We all know that a wedding is a huge expense and that not all pockets have the same economic facilities to cope. For this reason, here we give you some original gift ideas to help you save a little.

Keep it traditional
One of the most traditional wedding favour gifts is a small bag made with elegant fabric containing 5 sugared almonds. Symbolising fertility, longevity, wealth, health and happiness it’s a classically simple way of showing your appreciation to all those who have come to your wedding.

From couples who love to cook
If you love getting creative in the kitchen, surprise your guests with a cook book of all your favourite recipes. You could write it by hand on special paper and tie it up with ribbon or design it on the computer and get it printed professionally. Don’t forget to put in lots of photos of your culinary delights!

If you’re tight on time however, a simplified version of the above could involve getting hold of a fun selection of biscuit cutters and with a piece of ribbon, attach a small card with a biscuit recipe onto each one.

Music to the ears
Quick and easy to do, make a CD with all your favourite songs for an everlasting memory of your special day.

New beginnings
A small packet of seeds in a cloth bag is a great and inexpensive wedding favour for your guests. It symbolises the start of something new, the growth of a new relationship and better yet, it’s eco-friendly!

Scented gifts
Making homemade soap for your guests isn’t as complicated as it sounds! You can buy the ingredients easily and there are plenty of tips on the internet for creating different types of scrumptious scented goodies.

Arts and crafts for the little ones
Keep the kids busy all day with a book full of arts and craft activities. If you’re feeling creative, make one yourself or pick one up from your nearest art supply shop.
