Looks for Guests Attending a Morning Wedding

By weddingspot.co.uk, 08/12/11 Wedding Fashion

Morning weddings are different to evening or night ones, and the attire should be appropriate. In general, it is advised to dress in shorter skirts, but here we take a look at some of the finer points.

The first thing to do when receiving a wedding invitation is too study the dress code carefully for what it states, as this will be your guide to the bride and grooms expectations. The dress code will guide you as yo what to wear and will have been specified by them.

Country, beach weddings or themed weddings may have special dress codes. For example they may state casual, formal or even fancy dress in a particular style. This is to be respected and adhered to. When considering the following dress code, do also keep in mind the location, season, and most importantly how you will feel most comfortable, you don't want to spend the day too hot, too cold or wishing you wore lower heels. As long as you are within the dress code, the rest is up to you!

  • If the wedding is in the morning, a cocktail dress is most appropriate, just above or below the knee, or a two-piece of the same length.
  • Never wear black our white at this time of day. Also avoid wearing paler colours that may look too close to white, unless the bride is fine with other guests wearing white.

  • Don't forget to cover your shoulders with a pashina, shawl or jacket during the ceremony, especially if it is religious.
  • The perfect accessory for this time of day is a wedding hat or fascinator. Remember that in wedding etiquette it states that you must not remove the fascinator until you return home, and the hat until the sun goes down.
  • Always wear tights, even in summer, and they must be approximate to your skin tone.
  • High or medium heels perfect the look.
  • Don't forget that the above is all advice, and the last word goes to you, and of course the happy couple.
