Natural Cosmetics to Care for us from the Inside Out

By weddingspot.co.uk, 04/03/11 Health and Beauty

There is a lot of talk about "nutricosmetics" at the moment. Products which help care for us from the inside, they are taken orally and once absorbed by the body, they help to improve those cosmetic problems that trouble us.

Being healthy on the inside shows on the outside. Nutricosmetics are not about new technology or cosmetic medicines based on new products. Traditional and natural medicines have always echoed the benefits of a healthy diet. In this way, if our body is lacking in micronutrients, or has difficulties absorbing them , we can turn to dietary supplements which are now called nutricosmetics.

For example, for brittle nails or abnormal hair loss, it is advisable to take brewer's yeast, a supplement which is high in proteins and B vitamins which help in the formation of keratin. Brewer's yeast is quickly digested and absorbed by the body.

For skin, green tea is perfect, thanks to its varied chemical composition, it boasts ample therapeutic effects. Polyphenols found in green tea are powerful antioxidants which combat free radicals, helping to slow down ageing and the onset of some degenerative illnesses.

Another ingredient which is very beneficial for the skin is Evening Primrose Oil, high in vitamin E and essential fatty acids, which stimulate cell regeneration. It also contains gamma linolenic acid, perfect for smooth and healthy skin. This oil is recommended for skin with wrinkles, acne and even eczema.

When protecting skin against the sun's rays and to aid tanning, beta carotene, is recommended, vegetable pigments which can be found in fruit and vegetables such as tomatoes, watermelon, peaches and apricots, among others. Beta carotene protects us from free radicals and degenerative illnesses.

One thing's for sure, a balanced diet is the best way to help solve cosmetic and dermatological problems such as hair loss, weak nails, cellulite  or loss of skin elasticity, among other things. In order to look healthy, a diet rich in vitamins and minerals is crucial.
