Secrets to planning a wedding in 6 months

If you only have six months left until you get married, you've still got time. Here we give you the best tips for planning an express wedding. Let's get started, no time to lose!

Planning a wedding takes time, a lot of time. Generally, it is adviseable you start preparing at least a year before the day.

But if you don't have that much time, you can still plan a beautiful wedding in record time and if you only have six months to go, take note, we've got you covered.

  • Get in touch with a wedding planner. You will save previous time thanks to their extensive range of contacts to help find you the perfect venue in the blink of an eye.
  • If you have a small guest list, call them with the news and the details, or send them electronic invitations to be quicker. That way you'll have quick RSVPs.
  • Churches usually have longer waiting lists and are fully booked if you contact them with short notice, so consider the possibility of holding a civil wedding to save time if they don't have availability on your wedding date.

  •  Take advantage of your own network of contacts, family and friends. You never know who may have a house in the countryside where you can hold your wedding, or an acquaintance with a good catering company, or friends willing to lend a hand with the decor or desserts.
  • Remember that with so little time, your expectations might have to lower just a tad. Try not to take too long to pick your wedding dress and don't visit a shop without preselecting some models from home first. You can also buy your dress online or rent it.
  • Planning your wedding in six months is not an impossible challenge. If you know who you want by your side and how you want the wedding to be, then don't wait any longer. However, be aware that it is not always possible to have the wedding of your dreams down to every microscopic detail, especially having been prepared six months in advance, but it is worth trying!
