Summer Weddings

By weddingspot.co.uk, 15/03/11 Before the wedding

Summer is one of the most popular seasons to celebrate a wedding. Not least because the sun and warmth bring high spirits and relax the nerves. If you are having a summer wedding, take a look at everything you could do.

Getting married in the summer means more than a beach wedding. To start with, summer relaxes wedding protocol, such as wearing lighter and more informal wedding dresses, more casual banquets with lighter menus where summer cocktails play a large role.

Take note of our ideas:

  • A unique setting: the beach, a yacht in the middle of the ocean, an island...if your wedding is an intimate one with a small number of guests it will be easier to do these things.
  • Ahoy there!: if you want something really different and surprising, a themed wedding is your best option. What do you think of a marine themed wedding, set in the small fishing villages of the Greek islands in the vein of Mamma Mia!?
  • Be a beautiful and radiant bride....as well as natural, as the summer is a season in which we feel comfortable, and it shows. Take advantage of your sunkissed look and show off your shoulders, and if you are feeling bold, flaunt your legs with a short wedding dress. And leave your locks loose, decorated with a pretty flower.
  • A very fresh banquet: light salad-based dishes and cold canapés, summer soups, fruit or fish skewers and a lot of seafood. A menu that you could serve perfectly well on a chill out terrace, in a more relaxed atmosphere with less formalities and for which it isn't necessary to set up a traditional banquet hall with various tables. It goes without saying that cocktails will play a starring role!
  • Refreshing wedding gifts: sarongs and sandals will be your best ally to cope with high temperatures and give that summer touch to your wedding gifts. Soaps in the form of lollipops are also a good option.

And remember, enjoy everything this season has to offer!! ;)
