The Wedding Car

By weddingspot.co.uk, 17/11/11 The services for your wedding

Everyone loves to see the arrival of the bride in the flamboyant wedding car, the very same car that takes the newly weds to the reception afterwards. Here we take a look at some things to keep in mind when choosing a car.

The wedding car should be in the same style as the wedding theme, decorated to your personal tastes. There are many types of car: vintage, luxury, limos and even hummers.

  • If your wedding is vintage theme, a collectors car or vintage car will be appropriate in cream, pale blue or white.
  • For a beach wedding a convertible is a must, more on the modern side in this case.
  • Country weddings should be complemented by horse drawn carriages or similar.
  • If you have a church wedding think about the style of the church: baroque, Roman, or modern, and reflect this in your choice of vehicle.
  • The good thing about antique cars is that they don't need much decoration because they stand out anyway.
  • The car decoration should match the rest: flowers, ribbons in matching colours etc.
  • If you want to be different, really different, choose a stretch hummer, everyone will gape at you!

Some points to remember when entering or exiting the car:

  • The bride should exit the car on the side facing the church and on a pavement, never on the other side.
  • She should sit on the left side of the car, while the father of the bride should be behind the driver.
  • If there isn't a chauffeur to drive, it should be a family member.
  • If the bride has a long train she will need help to get in and out and help to settle her dress once she is standing.
