BMA House is a stunning, English wedding venue located in fashionable Bloomsbury, London in England. First built in 1911, this Grade II listed building stands proudly on the site of Charles Dickens’ former home, and boasts bags of character and charm. The team has worked to create the perfect balance of retaining its heritage and unique characteristics while updating it to a stylish, modern space with sustainability at its heart.

Facilities and Capacity

BMA House has a spectacular selection of spaces, four of which are licenced for weddings: Great Hall, Snow Room, Paget Room and Prince’s Room. The team works diligently to provide a magical setting for every part of your special day. The Great Hall features Corinthian columns, high ceilings, and huge windows for a bright, sophisticated atmosphere. It can accommodate ceremonies with up to 200 guests and seated dinner-dance receptions with up to 170 guests. The airy Snow Room features plenty of classic charm for you and up to 80 guests to dine and dance. For a moodier setting, the Paget Room will surround you and your guests with Spanish mahogany panels, fireplaces, and Lutyen windows for plenty of natural light. However, the venue's true secret lies within the beautiful and romantic outdoor spaces: the Courtyard and Garden. Both areas provide the perfect setting for a drinks reception and for capturing those all-important photographs.

Services Offered

BMA House places a great emphasis on helping you create and design your perfect day. A dedicated wedding planner will be with you every step of the way to ensure you achieve your nuptial vision. Their catering partners, Company of Cooks, will customise a menu to best suit your unique palate and event theme.

Just a brilliant experience from start to finish

BMA house were phenomenal- they really did everything they could to make the wedding as easy to plan and as enjoyable on the day. Highly flexible with every aspect, kind, our wonderful wedding planner at the BMA was excited for our wedding, knowledgable and on it. They really made it a WONDERFUL day. Nothing was too much trouble and when things needed doing at the last minute they were already done before we realised and could ask them. Just a perfect venue. A would 100% chose them again.

Wonderful venue for an intimate wedding

We recently married at BMA House and couldn't be happier with our choice. We had a wedding ceremony, drinks reception, dinner and dancing all at BMA House. Our guests commented throughout the day how impressed they were with the venue, the food and the service. We had the whole building to ourselves and the staff were very attentive so we felt very well looked after. We really couldn't have asked for more on the day and would highly recommend BMA to anyone looking for a wedding venue in London!

Wonderful venue, a truly memorable day

Everything about our wedding day was absolutely perfect and the running of the reception at BMA House was a big part of that.

From the very first enquiry through to the big day itself, we knew we could rely on the team led by Rebecca to deliver on the day we had planned for so long.

All the little details were considered and taken care of, which was especially important to us on the day when we had so many things to think about. JJ was a particularly memorable character on the day itself, with a cool, calm manner that enabled us to simply enjoy the meal knowing that everything was in order behind the scenes.

So many positive comments from guests too. Some had come from overseas, others from up north and the location of BMA house meant that staying in London after the wedding reception was easy, as was travel to and from.

A very professional team and a highly recommended wedding venue.

Couldn't have wished for a better wedding!

My new wife and I held our wedding ceremony at a Chapel in central London
and so were looking for a nearby venue that we felt could be relied upon
to provide the facilities, service and food that we wanted.

BMA House and the staff there met all our expectations and more! We had
the courtyard, Snow Room and Paget Room. Rebecca co-ordinates the events
planning and was available and helpful at every stage of our
preparations. JJ ran the dinner service expertly. James, the head chef,
ran the kitchen. I've eaten quite a few times at BMA House before now,
and the food is without question sophisticated, high quality, reliable
and - perhaps most importantly for weddings - scalable. Despite the 100
guests, the food was perfect, and JJ ran the floor to a precision
unmatched by anyone's recollection.

From walking around the venue initially, through to the food tasting, and
the days running up to the reception itself, all the staff were brilliant
and could be 100% relied upon. They set everything up the night before,
and co-ordinated directly with the florists and band. They were
particularly accommodating when it came to last minute changes, which despite
our best efforts to avoid, still were needed. Notably, for a London
venue, there is parking available for those unable to use public
transport. We had elderly and infant guests, and Rebecca was incredibly
helpful.

There's also the Council Garden for post-service photographs. We had
guests flying in from all over the world- they weren't disappointed!
Since the wedding, two of our guests (one from the UK, and the other from
China) have separately enquired about holding events there in the coming
year.

We couldn't recommend it more!

Stunning venue, a perfect choice

A perfect backdrop for a London wedding, really impressive inside and out, far and away the best looking venue of the many we viewed as well as being entirely self-contained. BMA house is a real hidden jewel in the capital. Rebecca's organisation and all the staff were really helpful and professional as well as flexible and accommodating to our specific requirements, plus giving us lots of useful advice and keeping us relaxed and on track throughout the planning! Head chef James created a wonderful fusion menu for us and Wyn dug out some lovely wine from the cellars. A brilliant day for us and our guests.

Fantastic venue, wonderful staff!

My wife and I got married at BMA House this summer, and we can't recommend it highly enough! The venue is stunning, with the outdoor courtyard and Main Hall being real highlights.

The events staff are extremely professional, reliable, and do everything they can to make your day special. Rebecca, the events planner, is everything you'd hope for, providing just the right level of support and guidance as needed while letting us have really free reign in deciding all the details of the day. Wyn, who leads the event staff, gave expert guidance on wine and beer and ensured the dinner service ran with perfect military precision! Head Chef James worked with us to plan our menu, and was very obliging with tastings before the event.

The standard of wedding food can sometimes be disappointing due to the difficulties in catering at scale (we had about 130 guests) but we found the food at BMA to be superb - by any standards! A lot of our guests commented afterwards on how fantastic the meal and dinner service were.

We looked at about 15 venues, and at the time it felt like a difficult choice. But from the time we started working with the team at BMA we didn't have a second thought about our decision and now, looking back, we're both just so delighted we made this choice. A terrific venue, with wonderful staff - just exactly what you need to make your wedding day everything it should be.

Fantastic venue, food and friendly staff

Our wedding day at BMA House was a huge success; all of our guests really enjoyed the day and the venue, and commented on the amazing food and the exceptional staff.
We had both our wedding ceremony and wedding breakfast in the Prince's Room, complete with chandelier, and it looked amazing. The natural acoustics in the room helped to created quite an atmosphere, and the tables were dressed immaculately in the evening, as was the garden room, which we used for post-ceremony drinks and the evening entertainment.
We cannot speak highly enough of the friendly staff who worked tirelessly to ensure that our guests had a great day and that everything ran smoothly. Rebecca and her team were so helpful and supportive ahead of the day, helping us to organise everything just as we wanted, and on the day did everything they could to make our guests welcome.
The food was excellent; we had many letters on our return from honeymoon, and almost without fail they mentioned how well they were fed throughout the day.
We would not hesitate to recommend the venue to others: great food, great surroundings and very helpful and friendly staff.

Grand yet friendly!

Laura and the team at BMA house were very helpful both before and during our wedding and luckily on the day we got to use the fabulous garden grounds for photos. BMA house is a gem of a location within the centre of London and the courtyard and gardens give a palatial feel to your event.  Would thoroughly recommend this venue because of its spacious and grand space, fantastic location and the warm and friendly staff. Cheers guys! Sophie and Anthony, wedding 3rd September 2010

Stunning Location, Excellent Service, Great Food!

We had our wedding at the BMA in late August and it was great! We took the Snow Room for the ceremony, Paget Room for reception and Great Hall for dinner. Everything looked great, the staff were very helpful and the food was fantastic. The wine wasn't cheap, but was very nice, we had many positive comments on all aspects of the wedding, but especially on the location and surroundings. The courtyard and fountain is a really great feature and made for some beautiful photos. I would definitely recommend it!

We had our wedding here and had the time of our lives. BMA House is a hidden treasure in the centre of London. I have had a lot of comments on how beautiful the building is and it makes a stunning backdrop for photos. The chef is brilliant and the food spectacular. The staff are also helpful and friendly and made our day run extremely smoothly.

a wonderful venue for an elegant and sophisticated wedding

all of our guests commented on the lovely venue and great food. The staff were attentive but discreet. The garden was a lovely backdrop for photos and made for a lovely reception area as our guests arrived. The height of the Garden room made it a fantastic room for our ceremony and then for dancing after the meal. The balcony above it was a great place for our piper to play and would also have been great for string quartet. The Snow Room with the table dressed looked so elegant and sophisticated, it was a lovely setting for our dinner and speeches. The planning and organisation was all made so easy by the great events and catering team, who catered to our every whim and created exactly the atmoshphere we wanted. Our day couldn''t have been more perfect.

Beautiful location/courtyard and fountain

All went smoothly. Wedding planner quietly in the background but always on hand with suggestions. Ceremony room ornate, beautifully decorated. BMA House courtyard has an amazing courtyard and fountain which offers space, quiet from traffic and beautiful photo opportunities. Canapes delicious.
